‘A creative mind is a functioning mind’ Roland Lawar 2003
As an artist, my artistic practice revolves around using ‘found objects’ and acknowledging that the original
material still has a life of its own. My work embodies various technical and aesthetic forms covering a
range of media and styles. As my art has developed, I have become more aware of abstraction and the
manipulation of space which I believe has drawn parallels with my childhood visual experiences.
My purpose is always to create sculptures that are aesthetically balanced, and bear the hallmarks
of creativity. I like people to walk round a piece of sculpture, enjoying and sharing the space the
sculpture occupies.
“I hope you find the time you will spend exploring my site exciting. I have put together a collection
of diverse images to stimulate your interest no matter what that interest may be. You will find that
most of my sculptures are maquettes for larger sculptures. If you are interested in commissioning
large sculpture(s), I am sure my imagination and creativity can accomondate your sculptural dreams.
So go on and enjoy yourself. And please feel free to contact me with your comments as they sure
will help me to grow.”
